The lifespan of hamsters is generally short. The average lifespan of a Syrian is typically 2 to 3 years, although there have been some that have lived up to five years. Campbell's Russian dwarf hamsters typically live 1 1/2 to 2 years. So as you can see, it is essential that you provide the best possible care to your pet, so that you can help the hamster live the best possible life while he/she is with you in your home.
